At Marie Flanigan Interiors, we’re big on hospitality! Our office is usually a-buzz with visits from clients, craftsman, and more. When we were dreaming up our new headquarters, we knew the HQ hospitality spaces would be a very important component to the design and function of our space. Afterall, we love to be gracious hostesses!

HOSPITALITY BEGINS IN THE HQ KITCHEN

We wanted a landing spot for our visitors that had the warmth and necessities of a kitchen. Located at the front of the office, it adds efficiency and minimal interruption. Defined by inset plastered walls, the moody calacatta viola marbleextends from the counter to the wall for an extra dose of drama. We especially love the juxtaposition of the light aesthetic and dark cabinets in Benjamin Moore’s Space Black. Furthermore, the gorgeous unlacquered brass knobswill patina and age in the most beautiful way. We incorporated Bocci outlets that blend perfectly into the stone for minimal distraction. After envying our clients’ Jura coffee machines, we finally have our own! As a result, the perfect latte is just finger tips away.

The beautiful shaker-style cabinetry has both storage and carefully camouflaged under-counter paneled refrigerator drawers. Having pull-out refrigerator drawers allows us to immediately offer refreshments, coffee, and bites without needing to visit the back kitchen. We softened the finishes with textural accessories like a woven tray and wood-topped canisters to keep everything fresh.

CONFERENCE ROOM

Of course, beautiful spaces are truly found in the details and there are plenty in this area. Interesting touches include a brass sconce, a beautiful figure sketch, and a ceramic table vase with a touch of greenery.

After grabbing a sparkling water or a latte, head into our show-stopping conference room. The custom, oversized arched doors were inspired by an antique we found in Round Top. Through the doors you’ll find an inviting and serene space filled with natural light. Breezy drapery and large pendants serve as the room’s initial backdrop while a hand-knotted oriental rug anchors the room.

By design, the custom conference room table dominates the space and provides function while surrounded by comfortable side chairs. One of the room’s main talking points is the artwork that also sets the tone for the office’s subtle palette. We hung the artwork from the ceiling so we can showcase Laura Rathe’s latest new artist without damaging our plaster walls. Additional function is found in the console on the opposite wall, along with the television expertly installed to conceal wiring.  Overall, the room serves as a subtle space that marries design, function, form, and intrigue. We want our guests to come in and feel welcome while we work hard making their interior dreams a reality.
